Instacart partners with Uber Eats to offer restaurant deliveries – KTLA Los Angeles
Grocery delivery company Instacart is partnering with Uber Eats to offer a new restaurant delivery perk to its customers.
Instacart customers nationwide can order from numerous restaurants through the app in the coming weeks by utilizing the new “Restaurants” tab.
“Through this partnership, Instacart customers now have access to both the best online grocery selection in the U.S. and restaurant delivery, making it even easier for them to conveniently tackle all their food needs from a single app,” Fidji Simo, CEO and chair of Instacart, said in a statement.
Instacart Plus members, who pay $99 per year or $9.99 per month for free grocery deliveries over $35, will receive free restaurant delivery for orders over $35.
Regular Instacart members will be charged Uber Eats delivery fees.
Uber Eats said the new partnership with Instacart would drive more customers to its restaurant partners, especially those in suburban neighborhoods where Instacart has the most users.
Other food delivery platforms, like Doordash, offer similar services.
