Amazon, Grubhub partner to deliver restaurant convenience, savings – QSR Web

Amazon and Grubhub have partnered to streamline and make restaurant food delivery more affordable for customers. Starting immediately, U.S. Amazon customers can order from hundreds of thousands of restaurants across all 50 states through Grubhub directly on Amazon.com and the Amazon Shopping app, according to a press release.
Prime members will receive a complimentary, ongoing Grubhub+ membership, valued at $120 annually, without automatically enrolling in a paid subscription. Grubhub+ offers benefits including free delivery fees on qualifying orders over $12, reduced service fees, 5% credit back on pickup orders, and exclusive deals.

“Whether it’s saving money on your favorite takeout with Grubhub+, exclusive deals on Prime Day, prescription savings with RxPass, entertainment with Prime Video, or free shipping on more than 300 million items including tens of millions of products available with same-day or one-day delivery, Prime keeps getting better for members,” Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime, said in the release. “We know Prime members value savings on food delivery, so we are extending the $0 delivery fees and exclusive savings with Grubhub+ for Prime members, and now customers can enjoy easy access to Grubhub from the Amazon store and app.”
“We’re thrilled to build on our successful collaboration with Amazon and bring more convenience to Amazon customers by offering Grubhub’s network of hundreds of thousands of restaurants directly on Amazon.com and in the Amazon Shopping app,” Howard Migdal, chief executive officer of Grubhub, said in the release. “More consumers can now experience the exceptional value and service offered by Grubhub+, with Prime members enjoying $0 delivery fees on an ongoing basis.”

Amazon customers can order Grubhub deliveries through Amazon.com and the app, eliminating the need for a separate Grubhub app download. To place an order, visit amazon.com/grubhub. The ordering process mirrors the Grubhub website and app experience. Customers will see identical restaurant pricing, and delivery partners will be compensated the same way they are for direct Grubhub orders.
Prime members gain permanent access to Grubhub+ perks, including free delivery fees on qualifying orders, reduced service fees, 5% credit back on pickup orders and exclusive deals, without transitioning to a paid subscription. Previously offered as a one-year trial that converted to a paid subscription, Prime members now only need to activate the offer once to enjoy continuous Grubhub+ benefits as long as they maintain their Prime membership.
Since the 2022 launch of the Grubhub+ offer, Prime members have saved millions of dollars through waived subscription fees and discounts. Those placing at least one order per month average $300 in annual savings on delivery fees and promotions. Beyond the ongoing Grubhub+ perks, Prime membership grants an annual savings of $120 on a Grubhub+ membership.

As an additional perk, Prime members can enjoy a limited-time promotional offer of $5 off a Grubhub delivery order exceeding $25. The code “PRIME5” is valid through June 2 and can be entered at checkout when shopping Grubhub on Amazon.com or the app, or applied automatically via a checkout banner. Prime members using the Grubhub app can enter the code manually.
