The acronym “HoReCa” stands for the sector of the economy encompassing hotels, restaurants, and catering. The name originates from the first letters of the English words: Hotel (Ho), Restaurant (Re), Catering (Ca).

Specialists at PMR Market Experts forecast that the value of the HoReCa market in Poland will increase by 8.4% compared to the previous year. While restaurants still constitute the largest part of this sector, a trend observed among Poles in the coming years is the gradual decline in popularity of gastronomic venues in favor of food delivery.

A positive signal for this industry is that the hotel segment is experiencing the highest growth dynamics and is returning to pre-pandemic levels. Key factors driving changes in this market include consumer preferences and the increasing convenience of various catering services, along with the overall development of the tourism industry.

Fast food outlets and pizzerias were leaders in sales growth during the challenging year of 2023, demonstrating the industry’s adaptation to changing conditions, according to the report’s authors. They emphasize that culinary vloggers’ and influencers’ opinions, along with Google ratings, are significant factors influencing younger generations’ choice of gastronomic venues.
