Robot Waiter Delivers Food in Tokyo Restaurant – Yahoo News UK
A woman dining in Tokyo, Japan, was pleasantly surprised to find her restaurant was almost fully automated.
Footage recorded by Joyce Wong shows her food being delivered by a robot on wheels, built with shelves to carry meals.

After picking up her food, Wong pushes a button and sends the robot on its way.
A human server can be seen walking around, tactfully evaded by the robot waiter, which indicates the direction it’s going with illuminated arrows.

“From the moment I stepped into the diner to the minute I paid my bill, I didn’t interact with a single human being. I chose my seat and ordered food from an iPad, then it was delivered by a very cute cat-themed robot. I paid by scanning a ticket that was delivered to me via the robot and inserted my money into a machine,” Wong explained.
“This is the future of budget dining,” she concluded. Credit: Joyce Wong via Storyful
